About YOTABUCK

Welcome to YOTABUCK—where overlanding is more than a hobby; it's a way of life.

I'm Kelly Rosenberger, a U.S. Army veteran, outdoor enthusiast, certified PADI Divemaster, amateur radio operator (KJ5FBM), and the builder behind the YOTABUCK 2022 Toyota 4Runner Limited. My goal is simple: build a capable, reliable adventure vehicle and share everything I learn along the way.

YOTABUCK was created for people who love exploring backroads, camping under the stars, recovering stuck vehicles, testing new gear, and continuously improving their rigs. Whether you're planning your first weekend adventure or preparing for a multi-state overland expedition, I hope you'll find practical information that helps you travel farther and with more confidence.

Here you'll find:

  • 4Runner Build Documentation – Detailed modifications, installation guides, product reviews, and lessons learned.

  • Overland Adventures – Trail reports, camping trips, road trips, and expedition planning.

  • Gear Reviews – Honest reviews of recovery equipment, lighting, communications gear, camping equipment, and accessories.

  • Communications & Navigation – Ham radio, GMRS, Garmin navigation, emergency communications, and field guides.

  • Recovery & Vehicle Preparedness – Winching, traction boards, maintenance, and vehicle setup for remote travel.

  • Tips & How-To Guides – Practical advice from real-world experience—not just specifications.

I believe the best equipment is the gear that has actually been used, tested, and trusted in the field. Every modification, product review, and recommendation on YOTABUCK is based on hands-on experience and continuous refinement.

When I'm not working on the 4Runner, you'll usually find me exploring Texas beaches, mountain trails, national parks, diving beneath the surface, spending time with my wife Kim and our dogs, or planning the next adventure.

My mission is to inspire others to get outside, build with purpose, travel safely, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Adventure doesn't begin when you reach your destination.

It begins the moment you leave the pavement.
